The Rev. Dr. Russell Levenson
The Reverend Dr. Russell Levenson and his wife, Laura, live in Houston, Texas where he has served our nation’s largest Episcopal Church, St. Martin’s, for over a decade. He received his Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Beeson Divinity School. Prior to coming to St. Martin’s, Levenson served in Sewanee, Tennessee; Birmingham, Alabama; Lafayette, Louisiana; and Pensacola, Florida. In addition to being a frequent guest speaker and retreat leader, he has written over 50 articles for various magazines and theological journals, preached a number of times for Day One and authored four devotional books – Autumn Leaves, Preparing Room, Provoking Thoughts and Summer Times about which political historian and former editor of Newsweek magazine, Jon Meacham, wrote, “The traditional Anglican term for the days and weeks of summer is ‘Ordinary Time,’ but this small but potent book is anything but. It is a an extraordinary gift to all of us from Russ Levenson, priest and pastor.”
