Morning Excursions: Damas Island Estuary - Day Boat Tour (Starting price is $92 per person)
One of their most popular tours is one of Iguana Tours’ most prized secrets. If you think the Damas Island Estuary and Mangrove Boat Tour is sedentary, let the “interactive” tropical rainforest and delicate mangrove ecosystem literally knock you out of your seat in your boat. This adventure of Costa Rican natural history, with their exotic flora and fauna, is highly recommended for any naturalist, young or old, who wants to experience the pulse of the mangrove ecosystem. Let our world-class, highly trained, bilingual guides and naturalists steer you peacefully and comfortably in our high-tech, ultra-quiet estuary boats as the wildlife comes to you, sometimes right into the boat! Experience curious families of monkeys as they migrate across the mangrove ecosystem (sometimes including the boat) in search of food and adventure. Discover the secret ways in which different exotic Costa Rican trees replenish the environment around the world while sustaining themselves through decades of growth. You must come to experience this intricate ecosystem that is also necessary for the balance of the world’s habitat. Gain a thoughtful perspective on this delicate ecosystem and how to practice better sustainability.

Manuel Antonio National Park Hiking – Regular (Starting price is $71 per person)
Enjoy this national treasure! The pace of this adventure is determined by the consensus of your group’s abilities and interests. There is an abundance of wildlife that you will want to stop, observe, and learn about, all in their natural and awe-inspiring habitat. Watch sloths and numerous species of monkeys roam the treetops while hunting nocturnal silky anteaters and various types of non-venomous snakes resting in the rainforest. Listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above their group, curious in search of adventure. See how many different types of flora and fauna you can spot in a 2.5-hour hike. If you feel like it, you can enjoy fresh fruits and local refreshments while pausing to soak in the beautiful aesthetics. You can take a side trip to enjoy pristine, uncrowded, untouched beaches after completing your guided educational adventure. Learn about the history of the Quepoa Indians and Costa Rica’s past as it relates to this stunningly beautiful area of Manuel Antonio. Enjoy an unequivocally unique experience and leave with a new perspective on nature. We hope you will consider ideas to help improve this rare and delicate ecosystem.

Afternoon Excursion: Horseback Riding to Tocori Waterfall (Starting price is $92 per person)
Let Don Gilberto and his family show you the real Costa Rica on horseback! Once they pick you up, you will begin the adventure in history and nature, starting with the Quepos Indians. Enjoy learning about Costa Rica’s exotic plants and rare wildlife as you ride through the tropical jungle and private ecological reserve at Tocori, just minutes away from Manuel Antonio. After a relaxing hour-long ride on horseback through the tropical rain forest – with the pace determined by your comfort level and riding ability – leave your horses on the trail as Don Gilberto or his daughter, Dyala, guide you through the exotic plant and animal life on a nature walk. They will let you observe, touch, smell, and even taste the real Costa Rican jungle firsthand. After indulging your mind and spirit with expert knowledge, dip in pristine natural mountain waters while playfully splashing by a stunning Tocori waterfall.

Day 3 SEPTEMBER 19

Enjoy exciting optional excursions.

Morning Excursion: Catamaran - Ocean King (Starting price is $89 per person)
The Catamaran “OCEAN KING” in the Manuel Antonio area measures 30 meters long x 13 meters wide (100 feet). We have a magnificent main deck with capacity for large groups and a second deck, which we call our tanning area, with at least 45 beach chairs for everyone’s enjoyment. The Ocean King has two luxury Jacuzzis for 16 people, two trampolines or giant nets for 25 people, a spectacular bar, two X-crossing slides, four bathrooms, and four showers for all our passengers. We go out to look for dolphins and whales (in season), but this cannot be guaranteed 100%, as it depends on the weather, ocean conditions, and Mother Nature. During the whole tour, we offer a personalized service with an all-inclusive party on board the biggest, safest, and most fun catamaran in Costa Rica, the Ocean King! During the rainy season, service is only in the mornings.

Afternoon Excursion: Local Flavor Experience – Regular (Starting price is $86 per person)
Experience a fun and informative foodie experience while preparing local Costa Rican cuisine. Learn how we grow the ingredients organically on our farm in Londres and how these dishes are traditionally prepared. Join us for an unforgettable culinary adventure, where you will discover the secrets and flavors of local cuisine while having a blast! Our tour starts with a quick stop to browse the vibrant farmers’ market in Quepos so you can get a feel of where locals sell their produce. From there, we will take you to our private ranch in the quaint town of Londres, where our friendly team will welcome you. Additionally, the tour provides the opportunity to explore Tucanes Farm, where you can see goats, turkeys, ducks, geese, cows, peacocks, and more. Follow us through our lush organic garden, where you will pick out the perfect ingredients to add texture, color, and flavor to your lunch, such as cilantro, green onion, and tomatoes. Our local cooks will guide you through the preparation process, giving you hands-on experience in making traditional corn tortillas, exotic ceviches with plantain or banana, and hearty tomato-based chicken dishes, just to name a few. Afterward, sit down and savor the delicious meal you helped create, and let your taste buds take a journey through the unique flavors of Costa Rican cuisine. You will leave feeling full and inspired to recreate these dishes at home using your own seasonal ingredients. And if that isn’t enough, you will also have leisure time to explore our ranch and take a dip in the refreshing waters of the nearby Naranjo River, weather permitting. Don’t miss out on this fun and informative tour of local cuisine!
