Caño Negro & Río Frío – Boat (Starting price is $85 per person)
To experience the wildlife in La Fortuna, this is undoubtedly the best and easiest way to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest and experience its tranquility as the boat quietly paddles down the river. This relaxing trip will take you down the beautiful Peñas Blancas River, where you can observe tropical birds such as oropendolas, toucans, and kingfishers, as well as monkeys, poison dart frogs, caimans, and much more. This serene river is only 30 minutes away from La Fortuna and is teeming with wildlife. You will truly appreciate the wonders of this river and the surrounding jungle as you float down the current without a motor, so you will enjoy the trip quietly paddling and taking pictures. During the bus ride, the guide will tell you about the farms along the way and the most important crops in the area, as well as the importance of some of them, such as yucca, bananas, and pineapple, for the development of Costa Rica, followed by a typical snack and tasting of the final food from some of these plants.

Enjoy a unique activity in La Fortuna with the Sky Tram ride. The naturalist guides will provide relevant information about the area during the tour. Upon reaching platform number 2, you will be surprised by the incredible view of the imposing Arenal Volcano and the spectacular Arenal Lagoon. In this same place, you will get to know the famous spot “La Mano del Arenal” so that you can capture one of the most special moments of the tour in photography. The Sky Trek (Zip lines) consists of a series of 7 cables or zip lines located throughout the forest; from there, you can see the beauty of the forest, Lake Arenal, and the impressive Arenal Volcano. In the Sky Trek, you will go through transverse cables with lengths ranging from 30 to 750 meters, located between 20 and 200 meters high, an experience that exceeds the tops of the largest trees on the mountain, giving you a panoramic view of the most magical places in the area. Sky Walk is the ideal tour for nature lovers as it has the perfect combination of walking through the exuberant tropical forest of the Arenal area and the incredible adventure of the hanging bridges. We are going to visit La Fortuna Waterfall, which has a view of the 70-meter-high waterfall and a 600-meter hike to the natural pool at the base. (Bring swim clothes, a towel, and special water shoes because of the rocky river bottom). Later on, drive to an organic production farm near La Fortuna for lunch. The tour continues to the Arenal National Park, where the tour guide will talk about the natural and geological history of the volcano, cross a path of solid lava, and enjoy an excellent view of the volcano and Lake Arenal.

Celeste River Waterfall & Tenorio Volcano National Park (Starting price is $160 per person)
Mysterious and imposing, in the very bowels of the Tenorio Volcano, manifestations of hidden power transform the union of the Buena Vista and Roble rivers into a sky-blue stream, giving birth to one of the most extraordinary phenomena of nature: “Light Blue River.” Along the river, we’ll find hot springs (not allowed to swim), bends of heavenly tranquility, and a waterfall of singular beauty, all surrounded by varied flora and fauna. The tour arrives at the Tenorio Volcano National Park, and it begins our 5.5 km hike (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours) through the tropical rain forest. Our first visit to this special park full of rich ecological wonders will be the spectacular Rio Celeste waterfall, whose color makes it one of a kind. We’ll continue our hike through the jungle until we arrive at “Los Teñideros,” the site where two streams of crystalline water come together and create the magic of this heavenly blue color that gives the river its name. Our final reward is an exquisite Costa Rican typical lunch at the end of our journey.

Vida Campesina Tour (Starting price is $67 per person)
During the organic farm tour, we will enjoy the cultural activity of milling sugar cane in the troja of the trapiche while tasting of three different derivatives: cane juice, cane guaro, and peeled cane segments. We will also be able to taste the fruits in the farm’s harvest and receive the tortillas class, where you will have to demonstrate your skills to knead and prepare the tortilla with the palms of your hands. In the end, you will be delighted with a delicious typical organic lunch prepared over wood and buffet style.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
